My fav workout program is getting a baby sister!!! The 21 Day Fix is my soul mate program & taught me so much about nutrition & got me in the best shape of my life!! Part two gets released today!! I had amazing results in ONLY 21 Days and I LOVED IT!! I continue to eat this way because it gives me ENERGY and I feel amazing. I have Ulcerative Colitis and I need to be careful about what I eat — this program makes my tummy feel GOOD!! No pains and like I said — I have energy throughout my day!

Who is this program for??

This program is NOT for everyone! This program is not for those who haven’t worked out in a while, or who are new to fitness. I suggest if you are new to working out — try the 21 Day Fix first and THEN move on to this program.

However — if you have been working out and want and need a new, challenging workout program that will get you shredded in 21 days — this is it!! If you want ABS — this is it! If you have a few annoying lbs that won’t go away — this is your program!!

 

What equipment will I need? 

You will need a yoga mat (personal preference), also a light set of weights as as well as a heavier set (5 pounds and 8 pounds or 10 pounds). Some people prefer a fitness band instead of using weights.

Clean Apple Crisp – 21 Day Fix Approved

One of my favorite desserts is an Apple or Peach Crisp! Here is a clean option so that you are able to enjoy a dessert while trying to eat clean and/or doing the 21 Day Fix!

INGREDIENTS

One purple — apple//peach//blueberries//berries —> whichever you prefer

One Yellow – oats

One Red — plain greek yogurt

One packet of stevia

Cinnamon

DIRECTIONS

Spray a pan with cooking coconut oil or grape seed cooking oil spray.

Add in the fruit and let them cook for a little over a medium heat.

Add the oats and sautee/cook until done

Mix your greek yogurt with the stevia in a separate bowl.

Once the oats and fruit is cooked enough, layer on top of the greek yogurt mixture and top with cinnamon and ENJOY!

 

 

 

Crock Pot CLEAN Buffalo Chicken — 21 Day Fix Approved

Looking for a clean, healthy and DELICIOUS recipe for an all-American favorite, Buffalo Chicken?? I know — I TOO love the taste of the blue cheese and the hot sauce drizzled all over the yummy, tender pulled chicken. BUT I do not want all of the fat and calories that comes along with it! Here is a ((21 Day Fix approved)) CLEAN alternative!!

Buffalo-Chicken

INGREDIENTS

One pound of boneless, skinless chicken breast

3/4 c of greek yogurt

1/4 cup of Franks Red Hot

Garlic Powder

Diced Garlic

Diced Onion

DIRECTIONS

Add all ingredients into the crock pot

Cook on low for 3 hours

Stir to ensure that all of the chicken is washed with the seasonings, yogurt and Hot Sauce

Once cooked thoroughly, you will be able to pull the chicken apart into shredded pieces and enjoy!

 

IDEAS for SERVING:

Top with blue cheese (one blue if you are a Fixer) and have with carrots and celery.

Add to the top of a salad

Put on lettuce wraps for a “taco”

Clean Chili Recipe

It’s THAT time of year — time for some warm and delicious chili!! I found a few clean recipes and created one that melded a bunch together! 🙂
It was what we had for dinner and it was SO SO SO good!!!

INGREDIENTS:

1 pound of ground turkey (lean)

1 can of tomato paste

1 can of diced tomatoes

4 cups of chicken broth

Peppers (I used 2)

Zucchini

Carrot

Half of a Spanish onion

4 cloves of garlic

1/4 cup of Chili Powder

Garlic Powder

A pinch or two of Cayenne Pepper (( this is spicy ))

DIRECTIONS:

Slice and dice all of your veggies.

Place in broth to boil until tender.

Saute the turkey separately. I added extra peppers and onion to the turkey as it sauteed. I sauteed the peppers and onions in coconut oil first for about five minutes and then added the ground turkey.

Once the veggies in the broth were tender, I added the fully-cooked ground turkey with peppers and onions to it.

I then added the tomato paste, diced tomatoes as well as the chili powder, cayenne pepper and garlic powder and mixed all together.

I let this cook on a low heat all afternoon…..about 5-6 hours! This could easily be a crock-pot meal too!

I served with smashed cauliflower and added a little greek yogurt on the side as a substitute for sour cream! It was SOOO good!!! Leftovers for tomorrow!! 😉

Insanity Max 30 DAY 1 & 2

Yesterday was my very first day of Insanity Max 30!! It was awesome!! I am LOVING that these workouts are only 30 minutes! …….and they pack a punch!!

The first day is Cardio Challenge and it is just that — pure cardio!! Shaun T is killer and the cardio moves certainly cause you to sweat and push through!!! Ya gotta DIG DEEP as he would say!!!  I maxed out at 9:30 — -which will definitely give me something to work towards for next week! I started to yell at that time — haha — next week I will yell and PUSH THROUGH!!!

WHAT IS MAXING OUT????

Maxing out is when you feel you need to stop and take a break to re-group! Shaun T will give you mini-water breaks along the way….BUT once I started to yell (haha) – I figured it was time to stop and MAX OUT! The great thing about this program is that you are ONLY in competition with YOURSELF!! You can see how much you improve each week, because it will take you longer to max out each time, because you are getting stronger! It is brilliant!! 🙂

TABATA POWER

Today was Tabata Power and that was awesome too! It is interval-based — 20 sec on and 10 sec off!! So, I maxed out around 14 minutes. Just when you are at your limit with doing a cardio move, he switches it to a strength based move! Its awesome!! There are ab intervals at the end. I love the tricep work because as we all know ladies, we DO NOT want the bat wings!!! haha!!! The end is the toughest in my opinion because he has you doing POWER tricep dips and tuck jumps!! OOOOMMMMGGGG!!!!

The rest of the week will be great!!! I have never been so excited for a workout or to see results!! I LOVE that the workouts are only 30 minutes. I get up at 5:00 am and get it done before my little one wakes up. It sets my day off right and I feel amazinnnnnng!!!!

PiYo — Chalene Johnson’s Newest Workout

EEEEEKKKK!!! Chalene Johnson — the mastermind behind TirboFire, Turbo Jam, Turbo Kick and also the author of Push, a New York Times best-seller has now created PiYo!

This workout will require NO equipment as it uses the weight of your own body as resistance. Chalene has created this workout series by fusing both Pilates and Yoga moves — and is made for EVERY fitness level! I have always been one to go “all out” with working out…..lifting weights, intense cardio and little to no stretching. Let me tell you — this is catching up to me! The more that I have incorporated stretching, yoga and pilates into my weekly workout routine, the more my body thanks me! Seriously — ever since completing the 21 Day Fix, which incorporates both yoga and pilates into the program, I fell in LOVE with just how good it feels to stretch, lengthen and tone my body without using weights or sweating through an intense, jumping and bouncing cardio sesh! Don’t get me wrong — I strongly believe in lifting weights and incorporating them into my workouts; PiYo is different in that it isn’t as taxing on your body and you are also lengthening and stretching as you work through the program and through each individual workout.

The PiYo Workouts:
