Thank you for visiting my blog! I hope that it can be a source of information, guidance, and motivation for you! I am a 35 year old mommy, wife and teacher. I have always loved fitness and learning how to “eat right”. It was not until sometime after having my daughter, Gabriella, that fitness and eating right took on a whole new meaning for me and my life. I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis about 9 months after having Gabriella. I was experiencing severe stomach cramps, extreme fatigue, and flu-like symptoms – just to name a few! Eventually, I was admitted into the hospital because my symptoms had gotten so bad. While I was there, I was determined to find a way to beat this. I did NOT want to have a life of doctor visits, hospital stays, feeling sick and being dependent on medications to feel “normal”. I researched and found a diet called The Specific Carbohydrate Diet. Those with Ulcerative Colitis and other IBD issues (even mothers with autistic children) were praising this diet and swearing that it put their conditions into remission. My doctors said that diet and exercise have nothing to do with this fighting this disease – yet, I thought otherwise! After several months of closely following this diet and exercising, I feel better and know that I am on the road to remission.

In addition to closely following The Specific Carbohydrate Diet, I also was sure to exercise 5-6 days each week. Exercise had taken on new meaning to me; instead of exercising the extra pizza, french fries and drinks off, I was exercising to increase my strength, health and happiness! Again, my team of doctors said that diet and exercise have nothing to do with the state of my health – yet each and every time I exercised, I immediately started to feel better. My stomach “aches” would dissipate, my mood was lifted, I felt more energized to go on with my day. I completely feel that diet and exercise DO, in fact have everything to do with how you feel. Exercise also helped me to start gaining confidence back after being pregnant and having an extra 15-20 pounds to lose! As soon as I was cleared by the doctor to begin exercising again, I was there, at the gym, most often for a 5:30 a.m. class. I was back to doing my fitness classes, and some weight/strength training on the floor – but was NOT seeing the results I had anticipated and hoped for. I guess I was thinking I would be one of those moms who “bounced right back” – and that definitely NOT the case. It was so depressing and frustrating putting in so much effort and seeing minimal results. So, that was when I figured I needed something different, if you do what you’ve always done, you will get what you’ve always gotten! I began working out at home because I found that I loved the convenience and the time that I saved by just going downstairs to press play and not driving to the gym, hoping to get a “spot” in class and having to “deal” with all other things that come with going to the gym. PLUS – I found workouts that I loved doing at my gym, I could do at home, for example, Les Mills Pump.

I started to LOVE working out at home (it definitely took some getting used to) and was starting to see some results. My husband had P90X and it just wasn’t for me….so I tried Jillian Michaels and liked her workouts – but was craving a good sweat and more of a challenge. So that’s when I found TurboFire by Chalene Johnson. The rest is history! I combined TurboFire with Pump and Chalene Extreme. I saw amazing results, my pre-pregnancy clothes were too big and I never felt better! My arms were actually toned, my “problem areas” were gone and my confidence and happiness returned! A better body IS possible after baby! I am now smaller than I have ever been in my life and it is all due to my hard work and dedication to Beachbody programs.

This has all lead me to Beachbody Coaching. I am passionate about encouraging, inspiring and helping others become their own, best version of themselves! I am a teacher by trade and feel so uplifted when I see others benefiting from finding their happiness, confidence and the best versions of themselves.
