PiYo — Week One






Week One of PiYo is over and I am honestly LOOOOOOVING this workout series!! I’ll be honest, it started out slower than I would have liked and DEFINITELY left me wanting MORE!! I has started to get nervous that the program wasn’t going to give me what I needed (I LOVE a tough workout). I then thought — this is CHALENE….she **always** gives a great workout — I need to TRUST the program!! The program is specifically designed to get you the BEST results and Chalene certainly knows what she is doing!! Let’s just say…..my hamstrings were VERY sore after the Sweat workout (I guess it’s entitled “Sweat” for a reason).

The beginning workouts are short, Upper Body is 20 minutes, for example and Align, The Fundamentals is Chalene Johnson showing you the basic moves of the program.The program for the first week is as follows:

Monday – ALIGN: The Fundamentals

Tuesday – Define: Lower Body (20 min)

Wednesday – Define: Upper Body (20 min)

Thursday – Sweat (and boy did I sweat!!) (36 min)

Friday – REST 😉

Saturday – Define: Lower Body (20 min)

Sunday – Define: Upper Body (20 min)

I have already lost a half inch on my arms!!! YAY!! This program is amazing and uses NO WEIGHTS — just your own body weight as resistance, so it can be done anywhere! This will be great for our summer vacations. I can take the DVD’s and my lap top and workout in the hotel room or ON THE BEACH! 😉

I am SERIOUSLY LOVING this workout program! I can already tell a difference and feel smaller and tighter. I have always been one to use weights to strength train and this is opening up my eyes to an entirely different way to build strength while stretching and scorching calories!!!  Long & Lean —here I come!!!

It was a WONDERFUL experience that left me wanting MORE! We were honored by listening to Darren Hardy speak. He is the author of The Compound Effect and the publisher of Success Magazine.

We also were honored to see and hear Diana Nyad speak. She is incredibly inspirational and her story leaves you feeling inspired and confident in ANY endeavor you wish to take on.

There were workshops led by TOP Beachbody coaches that allowed other coaches to learn new techniques, strategies, ideas and ways to develop your business and help others do the same.

There were parties held to honor those who have worked hard in the business and it allowed coaches from all over the country to *finally* be able to meet one another!



My coach, Lindsay Matway, the 2013 TOP COACH offered an event called SHINE. It was amazing to get to meet her and learn even more from her and from HER top coaches and friends. She is very successful at this and has paved the way for all of us!!


Lindsay is such an amazing inspiration! Over the past 4 years she has built a successful, six-seven figure income business that is ALL HER OWN!! ……and she’s only 29! It IS possible for you to do the same! This “job” isn’t a corporate cubicle, 9-5, sitting in traffic- kinda job! Throw the alarm clock OUT THE WINDOW!!! It is SO much more and has offered me SO much more than ANY corporate job ever could or has!! This is all you own, to do what YOU want. You can climb to the top or make it a hobby —- it’s all up to you and THAT is the beauty of it!! The people you work with WANT you to succeed, because they they succeed too. Would you find that anywhere else? Not really…….or at least, not in my experience. I have both my MBA and a M.S. in Elementary Education. NEVER had I had a job that has ENHANCED my life rather than take away from it! This is SUCH an amazing opportunity! I want to share it with the world!! 🙂

PiYo — Chalene Johnson’s Newest Workout

EEEEEKKKK!!! Chalene Johnson — the mastermind behind TirboFire, Turbo Jam, Turbo Kick and also the author of Push, a New York Times best-seller has now created PiYo!

This workout will require NO equipment as it uses the weight of your own body as resistance. Chalene has created this workout series by fusing both Pilates and Yoga moves — and is made for EVERY fitness level! I have always been one to go “all out” with working out…..lifting weights, intense cardio and little to no stretching. Let me tell you — this is catching up to me! The more that I have incorporated stretching, yoga and pilates into my weekly workout routine, the more my body thanks me! Seriously — ever since completing the 21 Day Fix, which incorporates both yoga and pilates into the program, I fell in LOVE with just how good it feels to stretch, lengthen and tone my body without using weights or sweating through an intense, jumping and bouncing cardio sesh! Don’t get me wrong — I strongly believe in lifting weights and incorporating them into my workouts; PiYo is different in that it isn’t as taxing on your body and you are also lengthening and stretching as you work through the program and through each individual workout.

The PiYo Workouts:

With this program you will get NINE total workouts, each ranging from 25-45 minutes in length. This is wonderful for those with minimal time to spend working out — which is most people!


The Workouts that you will receive are:

  • Align (46 mins): The Fundamentals of PiYo
  • Upper Body (35 mins): this focused workout will strengthen, lengthen and stretch your entire body, while building on the movement patterns you have learned in Align.
  • Define: Lower Body (25 mins) will shape and tone everything from your quads, hamstrings, glutes and calves gently, yet effectively to help you get sleek and lean legs.
  • Sweat (35 mins) is a traditional PiYo Workout that is fast paced with body weight strength training and ab work!
  • Drench (45 mins) is a total body workout to get you sweaty, burn calories, and will leave your metabolism on fire! 🙂
  • Strength Intervals (25 mins) NO weights required and is designed to tone the whole body and burn tons of calories.
  • Sculpt (30 mins) NO weights are required for this intense, full-body workout!!
  • Core (30 mins) an ab-centric workout that targets every angle of the abdominal’s and back. From what I have heard — this is a serious calorie-burn!
  • BONUS workout included

The group is led by me, online in a private Facebook group. It is staged to set you up for accountability, motivation, support, nutrition advice, tips and tricks, recipe ideas, and FUN while on your fitness journey! It is my passion to help and inspire others to get the results you want by STICKING with a program and following it through until the end!

21 Day Fix Eggplant Lasagna


1/4 of the pan equals 1green, 1/2 blue, 1 red and 1 teaspoon. And it is huge and delicious!!!!!!!!!

1 eggplant
1 blue mozzarella cheese
1 blue Parmesan cheese
3/4 jar of Wegmans organic sauce
2 red Ricotta Cheese
2 eggs
Parsley, sea salt, garlic and pepper to taste


Peel, slice and bake the eggplant with a spray of olive oil and sea salt and pepper at 375.

While that was baking mix the eggs with the ricotta cheese and parsley. Then layer the sauce eggplant and cheese and baked it all for 35 mins on 375.
